What Filmmakers Are Saying About Our Events.

quotation

Kate Kelsen, Director

Mikel and his staff did an incredible job. Of all the festivals I’ve been involved with and/or submitted to. Portland Comedy Film Festival is one of the most professional. And the communication was terrific -- from the time our film was selected to the moment it screened at a drive-in theater. To pull this off in the midst of a pandemic is no small feat! The cast and crew of “Offline" are incredibly appreciative of everyone who made this happen. I highly recommend this festival!

quotation

Jose Luis Anaya, Director

It was so great to be part of the Oregon Short Film Festival with my sophomore film “Lourdes’ Choice”. Being part of the live-screen experience in the midst of a global pandemic made it more worth it to be part of the experience to be screened in a drive-in. Would have love to be there, and being a finalist as a Best Fantasy Film (being a psychological dark drama/magical realism film) was so rewarding, and the nominee films were so beautiful. Thank you to Mikel Fair and to the Film Fest Circuit team who made it possible. Oregon Short Film Fest is a great film festival I truly believe in!

Charles Mesa, Director

Mikel Fair, the director of this festival, Zeami, the projectionist, and all the other Oregon Scream Week crew are individuals that put in the work to make sure that their community is having a great time. At the end of the day, film festivals are about coming together with your peers in an environment that promotes good conversation, networking, and a space for your film to be seen in it's proper medium: on the big screen.

Accomplishing these things during the pandemic in a highly regulated county is a seemingly impossible task. If they can accomplish all of these things during this time, imagine what it's like when they're not being told they can't? Oregon Scream Week has a bright future ahead of it, and I'm glad I had a brush in their success.
