Bugtussle, Written by Derek Sitter (Oregon) - After a bank robbery gone bad, a broken criminal and his unhinged partner hide out in a shack in the orange groves of Bakersfield to await their getaway car. As they try to get out of this clusterfuck with some of their dreams intact, their personal demons may have other plans. "Bugtussle" is my 3rd short screenplay after writing for the theatre for many years. Bugtussle is an updated and loosely-based telling of "Of Mice And Men." Bugtussle is set in the Central Valley of the California orange groves or "Steinbeck Country" where the two characters dream of living new lives in "B.H. Hills". I've always had a fondness of less-fortunate and broken human beings that are always wishing things could be better somewhere else. Dreams are one thing all humans have in common. Without dreams and the pursuit of them, we are really just stiffs..."bindle stiffs".
