Midnight, Directed by Tony Lugo (California) - Reeling in grief over her brother's death, Dara enlists the help of her brother's problematic ex-girlfriend on a quest for revenge. As they descend into the underbelly of the drug world, Dara quickly realizes she's in over her head. I've been yearning to tell a story about loss, grief, and redemption after struggling with these issues in my life. When the idea of a woman who just lost her brother and needing to hold someone accountable came to me, I knew this story would be the perfect vehicle to share these themes. After hanging out with the characters of Dara and Zoe in my head for some time, seeing them come alive and go through their journey on screen was breathtaking. I'm incredibly proud of this cast and crew, who believed in this story enough to take the journey with me. I'm excited to share the message of hope in the face of devastating loss with audiences everywhere.
