Pretty Metal, Directed by Mikhail Tot (Ohio) - A struggling female pop group reinvents themselves as a heavy metal band in order to win a national talent competition. The script "Pretty Metal" quickly caught my attention because the story was something that I've never seen before. I liked that it was a character study about three strong female characters and that it was a combination of two sub genres. We were the first SAG production to shoot in our area once Covid 19 guidelines were established during the summer of 2020. Filming during a pandemic was a huge learning curve for our team and our local Film Commission. Even with the additional challenges, we were able to achieve the look and feel I wanted for the film as well as great performances, all while keeping everyone safe and healthy.
